Texas Sends National Guard to Protect Federal Sites
Texas is sending some of its National Guard troops to help protect federal buildings in different cities. Governor Greg Abbott said the troops are ready and able to help keep things safe.
This move comes after President Trump asked for help from states to make sure federal workers and property are safe from harm. Some places have seen more protests, and the President wants to make sure things don’t get out of hand.
Governor Abbott agreed with the President, saying it’s important to protect federal employees. He thinks the Texas National Guard is well-trained and can do the job.
However, some leaders in other states don’t like the idea of troops coming in from other places. They say it’s like an “invasion.” They are trying to stop the troops from coming.
Even with some disagreement, Texas is standing by its decision to help. Governor Abbott says his state is always ready to defend the nation and support law and order. His simple message shows he’s confident in Texas’ ability to help keep the peace.
