Ukrainian President Zelenskyy says his talks with President Trump are getting better as they work together to handle the war with Russia.
In a recent interview, Zelenskyy said he and Trump are talking more often and agree more on what to do. He believes that Russian President Putin misled Trump in the past, which has helped bring them closer.
Zelenskyy also noted that Ukraine and the U.S. are sharing information better now, which helps them make smart choices in the war.
Trump has said that Ukraine, with help from Europe and NATO, can win back its land. Zelenskyy was happy to hear this, saying it shows Trump wants to support Ukraine until the end.
Zelenskyy stressed that Trump sees the need to put more pressure on Russia, especially on their energy and banking businesses. He hopes the U.S. will announce more strong actions soon.
Zelenskyy also mentioned that Trump now seems to understand that Ukraine can’t just give away land to Russia.
Overall, Zelenskyy made it clear that he feels Trump’s team is serious about helping Ukraine defend itself. He wants the war to end quickly but warned that Putin doesn’t seem ready to talk fairly. Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine wants peace, but they need to be in a strong position to achieve it.
