Zachery Ty Bryan, known from the show “Home Improvement,” appeared in court on December 3rd. He’s accused of breaking the rules of his probation, which is related to a past case of domestic violence.
The 44-year-old actor said he did not violate his probation. A hearing about this issue is scheduled for later in December.
Bryan was first held without bail, with his sentence supposedly ending on December 3rd. However, he has now been moved to a community corrections facility in Lane County. This type of facility allows people to leave for work or treatment programs.
Bryan’s lawyer has not yet commented on the situation.
The arrest happened after an incident on November 29th involving his fiancée, Johnnie Faye Cartwright. She was also arrested.
Cartwright was in court on December 1st and pleaded not guilty to several charges, including driving under the influence and endangering others.
Police reports say that Bryan, Cartwright, and their three young children were in a pickup truck. Bryan got out, and Cartwright allegedly tried to hit him with the truck, crashing it into a ditch with the children inside. No one was hurt.
Police say both Bryan and Cartwright seemed to be under the influence of something. They also noted that Bryan was not supposed to be in contact with Cartwright due to a previous court order.
