Trouble Brewing for Kayce Dutton? “Yellowstone” Fans Fearful Over New Spinoff.
Fans of the hit show “Yellowstone” are talking after seeing a trailer for the upcoming spinoff, “Marshals.” The new show, set to air on CBS, will follow Kayce Dutton as he leaves the family ranch to become a U.S. Marshal in Montana.
In the original series, Kayce, played by Luke Grimes, and his wife Monica, played by Kelsey Asbille, decided to leave behind the Dutton family’s troubles and start a peaceful life. However, the trailer for “Marshals” has fans worried that something bad might happen to Monica.
In the trailer, Monica is missing. Some scenes seem to suggest that she may have passed away, leaving Kayce heartbroken. One scene shows Kayce waking up alone, and another shows a body in a bed being covered with a sheet. Kayce is heard saying, “The only thing I ever wanted was taken from me.” He’s also seen kneeling by what looks like a grave.
Adding to the worry, Kelsey Asbille isn’t listed as part of the “Marshals” cast, and she hasn’t been in any of the promotional material for the show. This has led many to believe the character may have been killed off in order to give Kayce a reason to leave his family behind and become a U.S. Marshal.
Some familiar faces from “Yellowstone” will be in “Marshals,” including Brecken Merrill as Tate, Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater, and Mo Brings Plenty as Mo. “Marshals” premieres on March 1st and will be available for streaming.
