Lafayette, California – Jake “Papa Jake” Larson, a valiant D-Day veteran who shared his World War II experiences with millions on TikTok, has passed away at the age of 102. Known for his warmth and humor, Larson survived the treacherous landing at Normandy in 1944, drawing admiration from many generations.
Born on December 20, 1922, in Owatonna, Minnesota, Larson’s military journey began when he enlisted in the National Guard at just 15 years old. By 1942, he was overseas, serving in Northern Ireland before playing a crucial role in planning the Normandy invasion.
