Mara Wilson, known for her role in “Matilda,” is speaking out about the dangers of artificial intelligence (AI) being used to create harmful images. She’s worried about how easily AI can now be used to make fake nude pictures of real people, especially women and children.
Wilson, who is now 38, shared that her own image was used to create these kinds of images when she was younger. She talked about this in an article she wrote. She said that being a child star made her more vulnerable to this type of abuse.
She explained that even though she felt safe while filming movies, she felt unsafe because the public could access her image. People used her picture in inappropriate ways online, even before she was a teenager.
Wilson said it was a “nightmare” to know that her image was being used in this way. She worries that AI is making it even easier for this to happen to other kids. She pointed out that if a child’s picture is online, it could be used to create harmful images.
Wilson is urging people to take action. She suggests that we should avoid using companies that allow AI to create these types of images. She also believes that laws and safety measures are needed to stop this from happening.
She also reminds everyone to be careful about sharing photos of children online. She says that parents need to protect their kids and warn them about the risks.
