Iowa Woman Found Guilty of Husband’s Murder
An Iowa woman has been convicted for the murder of her husband, just days after she conceded in court to having an affair with another man involved in the case.
Ryan Cooper, 42, was tragically shot and killed in their home in Traer, Iowa, back in June 2021. He suffered two gunshot wounds to the face.
In February 2024, his wife, Karina Cooper, was arrested in connection with his murder. Reports confirm that she was found guilty of first-degree murder on July 11.
Authorities have also charged Huston Danker, Karina’s alleged lover, with first-degree murder. Prosecutors indicate that Danker played a significant role in the murder.
During the trial, prosecution revealed that Karina was actively communicating with Danker through Snapchat just before and after Ryan’s death. Text messages shared in court suggested that the couple had discussed plans for a future together, including starting a family and undergoing IVF treatment, which they communicated through the app.
Ryan’s obituary noted him as a devoted father to his four children, three of whom he shared with Karina. Remembered for his love for his kids, Ryan was cherished in the community.
Karina’s sentencing is set for September, and Danker’s trial is scheduled to begin in August.
