UFC Explores Hosting Fight Card at the White House in 2026
UFC CEO Dana White has hinted at the possibility of a unique event: a UFC fight card held at the White House in June 2026. He suggested the event could be “the greatest fight card ever assembled.”
White mentioned the idea while discussing upcoming plans for UFC, including a move to a new network, Paramount, in January. He stated that after delivering a significant card for the network launch, the focus would shift to organizing the White House event.
While the concept is intriguing, White clarified that the plan is still in its early stages. Discussions are ongoing about the production and logistics of holding such an event at the White House. No specific fights have been arranged or negotiated for the potential card yet.
The move to Paramount comes after a $7.7 billion deal, marking a departure from ESPN, where UFC events have been broadcast for many years.
White noted that several fighters have expressed interest in participating in the White House card, including Conor McGregor. However, he cautioned that nothing is finalized and no negotiations have taken place regarding specific matchups.
The idea for a UFC event at the White House appears to be connected to the United States’ 250th-anniversary celebration. White indicated that the idea originated with former President Donald Trump, who suggested hosting the fights at the White House.
According to White, Trump views the White House as belonging to the American people and wants to make it more accessible through various events. White recounted Trump suggesting, “We should do a fight here.”
The concept includes fighters potentially walking out of the Oval Office before entering the fighting area, adding to the unique nature of the event. White emphasized that this would be a “one-in-one, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that will never happen again.”
White and Trump have maintained a friendship for years, with Trump frequently attending UFC events. White has also publicly supported Trump, including speaking at the Republican National Convention during Trump’s initial presidential campaign.
Reports suggest that weigh-ins for the event may occur at the Lincoln Memorial. While initial plans aimed for a July 4th event, logistical considerations have reportedly shifted the date to June.
The potential UFC event at the White House is still developing, with many details yet to be determined. However, the idea of hosting a major sporting event at such a significant location has generated considerable buzz and anticipation.
