Former Teacher Charged with Animal Abuse
A former middle school English teacher in Virginia has been charged with serious allegations of animal abuse. Chanelle Renee Lincoln, aged 43, now faces felony charges after an investigation linked her to disturbing video footage involving her pet dog.
According to court records, Lincoln’s principal at Pocahontas Middle School received a concerning video on October 2, 2024. The video reportedly showed Lincoln engaging in inappropriate acts with her Yorkshire terrier, Milo. Following this revelation, a police detective reviewed the video and confirmed its grim content.
Lincoln, who had been teaching at the school since 2019, resigned shortly after the incident became known. During police interviews, she admitted that the video depicted her and Milo but claimed that it must have been altered. She insisted that she has never engaged in such acts with an animal.
The teacher further alleged that she had been threatened by another woman who possessed explicit videos of her, which prompted her concerns about the video’s authenticity. However, investigators found no evidence that the footage had been tampered with.
Currently, Lincoln is out on her own recognizance, but a judge has prohibited her from having any contact with animals while the case is pending. She is scheduled to return to court on July 14. If convicted, she faces a ban on animal ownership and a potential fine of at least $50,000, as stipulated by Virginia law.
Pocahontas Middle School has not commented on the situation thus far.
