U.S. Justice Department to Monitor Voting in South Carolina
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The U.S. Department of Justice has declared its plans to monitor voting in South Carolina on Election Day to ensure that federal voting rights laws are being upheld.
On this important day, Justice Department representatives will be in touch with both state and local election officials as needed. They will be available to assist and answer any questions related to voting rights issues.
The Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division will have personnel on site throughout the day on November 5. Their main role will be to address inquiries and complaints about potential violations of voting rights.
