White House Launches “MerryChristmas.gov” Website
The White House has launched a new website dedicated to celebrating Christmas and highlighting the positive role of government in our nation’s history. The website, MerryChristmas.gov, aims to remind Americans of the good things that can be achieved when we work together.
The site’s first feature showcases posters from the Works Progress Administration, created during the Great Depression. These posters promoted important values like supporting our parks, staying healthy, seeking education, and enjoying cultural events. The White House plans to add new content to the website each day until Christmas, December 25th.
This initiative follows President Trump’s promise to bring back the open celebration of Christmas. In recent years, some have tried to downplay the holiday in favor of more general greetings. The President has made it clear that he believes in proudly saying “Merry Christmas.”
The White House has also been sharing Christmas-themed messages on social media, often tying them to the administration’s policies. These messages aim to spread holiday cheer while also promoting the President’s vision for the country.
