A clearer view has emerged regarding the Cabinet of America’s 47th President, as President-elect Trump made significant cabinet appointments on Friday evening.
All cabinet selections must receive confirmation from the Senate, which will commence in January. Luckily for Trump, his party boasts a 53-seat majority in the Senate, thanks to Republican candidates winning four additional seats in the recent elections.
The president-elect has assembled a team of notable supporters who aided him during his campaign, underscoring his commitment to having allies in key positions.
Scott Bessent – Treasury Secretary
Scott Bessent, the founder of Key Square Group, has been chosen as the Treasury Secretary. He played an essential role as an economic policy adviser and fundraiser for the Trump campaign. Trump praised Bessent as a leading international investor and a quintessential example of the American Dream. Bessent supports economic policies that align closely with Republican values, including lower taxes and deregulation.
Russ Vought – Office of Management and Budget Director
Trump has nominated Russ Vought to head the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Vought previously served as OMB director in Trump’s first term and is recognized for successfully cutting regulations during that period. He also aligns with conservative principles and has been a strong ally of the Trump administration.
Scott Turner – Secretary of Housing and Urban Development
Trump nominated Scott Turner as the Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
