President Donald Trump is set to undergo his annual physical examination today, expressing confidence about his health. In a post on his Truth Social account, the 78-year-old former president stated, “I am pleased to report that my long-scheduled Annual Physical Examination will be done at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.”
Trump went on to share that he has “never felt better,” but acknowledged the importance of routine medical check-ups. This examination is scheduled for early Friday afternoon in Bethesda, Maryland, and comes less than a year after he narrowly escaped an assassination attempt while campaigning in Pennsylvania.
In a revealing letter released after the incident, Trump’s former physician, Ronny Jackson, addressed the gravity of the event, noting how close the bullet came to causing serious harm. According to Jackson, the bullet struck just above Trump’s ear, missing his head by a mere quarter of an inch.
Months following that event, Florida neurosurgeon Dr. Brett Osborn reiterated that Trump remains in good health, pointing to his ability to attend numerous events and rallies across the country as evidence of his stamina. For over seven months, Trump participated in 120 events, often holding multiple rallies in a single day.
Despite this, Trump’s health has been a subject of dispute among some Democrats and members of the medical community. Recently, a group of over 230 doctors and healthcare professionals openly called for Trump to release his medical records for transparency.
Today’s physical marks the first examination of Trump’s second term in office. In 2020, during his first term, he was treated for COVID-19 at Walter Reed. As he continues his journey in the political arena, discussions about his health will likely continue to generate interest and scrutiny.
