Under President Trump, Border Security Achieves Historic Success
Washington, D.C. – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has released a report highlighting significant progress in border security and immigration control since President Donald Trump’s return to office. The report indicates a major decrease in illegal immigration and a stronger defense against criminal activity.
According to the DHS, over 2.5 million individuals who were in the country illegally have left the United States this year. This includes both people who chose to leave on their own and those who were deported.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem praised President Trump’s leadership. “President Trump has shown real leadership in making our country safer,” she said. “We’re focused on protecting our borders and making sure our laws are respected.”
The DHS report also shows a big drop in illegal border crossings, down 93% compared to last year. In addition, efforts to stop the flow of dangerous drugs like fentanyl have seen success, with trafficking cut in half. The agency also reports the arrest and deportation of many immigrants who have committed crimes.
The Trump administration has been encouraging those living in the U.S. illegally to return home.
The efforts to secure the border have also led to financial savings. The DHS reports saving taxpayers over $13 billion. The agency says it has refocused resources on its main goals, leading to more efficient operations.
Secretary Noem emphasized the importance of these achievements, stating, “We’ve made great progress, but we’re not done yet. We will continue to work hard to keep our country safe and secure.”
