President Trump recently used his veto power on two bills that had support from both parties in Congress.
One bill, put forward by Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert, aimed to improve drinking water access in her state. The other concerned land control for the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians in Florida.
In a letter to Congress, President Trump stated that the Miccosukee Tribe has actively opposed reasonable immigration policies.
While the President did not mention Boebert directly, he expressed concerns about the cost of the water pipeline project.
Some have suggested the vetoes were a response to past disagreements, as Boebert previously broke with the President on the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
The President, when questioned about the vetoes, simply referred to his official statements. Congress has the power to override a presidential veto with a two-thirds vote in both the House and Senate.
