Trump Hints at Vance as Future GOP Leader
In a recent event, President Donald Trump expressed his confidence in Vice President JD Vance’s potential as the leading candidate for the Republican nomination in 2028. This statement came during a signing ceremony for an executive order to establish a task force for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
When asked whether Vance would take the helm of the Make America Great Again movement, Trump indicated that he believes Vance is well-positioned to succeed him, especially since Trump has stated he will not seek a third term.
“Yes, it’s very likely,” Trump replied, acknowledging that Marco Rubio, the Secretary of State, could make a strong running mate alongside Vance.
While it remains early in the election cycle, Trump praised Vance’s current performance, remarking, “He’s doing a great job,” and verifying that Vance is among the favorites for the upcoming race.
Rubio, who previously competed against Trump in the 2016 primary, has since aligned himself closely with Trump and has shown support for Vance as the GOP nominee. In a recent interview, Rubio confirmed, “JD Vance would be a great nominee if he wants to go for it,” highlighting his satisfaction with Vance’s contributions as Vice President.
As the political landscape evolves, many eyes will be on Vance and his leadership as the Republican Party prepares for the future.
