President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Brooke Rollins to serve as his agriculture secretary. In a statement released over the weekend, Trump praised Rollins for her dedication to supporting American farmers, ensuring the nation’s food independence, and revitalizing agricultural communities across the country.
Rollins is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Development and a Juris Doctor with honors. Raised in the small farming town of Glen Rose, Texas, she has a strong background in agriculture, having been involved with organizations like Future Farmers of America and 4H since a young age. Her family roots in farming and her hands-on experience guiding her children in their cattle showing activities give her a well-rounded perspective on the challenges faced by rural America.
Before this new role, Rollins previously served as the director of the Office of American Innovation and acted as the director of the Domestic Policy Council during Trump’s first term in office. She has also co-founded the America First Policy Institute think tank, further emphasizing her commitment to conservative policies that benefit American farmers and farming communities.
Rollins’ experience and deep understanding of agricultural issues position her well to help promote a strong and independent agricultural sector in the United States.
