The family of a young man who tragically lost his life while on a vacation in Turkey is speaking out. Tyler Kerry, just 20 years old, was found dead in the elevator shaft of a hotel in Antalya on November 29. This was reportedly his first trip abroad with his girlfriend, Molly, alongside family members.
Tyler, who was from Basildon, Essex, had been vacationing at the Trendy Lara Hotel for less than two days. Turkish authorities reported that alcohol was involved, noting there were no visible injuries or signs of foul play. At the time of his death, the hotel elevator was reportedly out of service.
A GoFundMe page organized by Tyler’s great-uncle, Alex Price, indicates that the family is attempting to raise money for his funeral and is also seeking a criminal investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death; they suspect something may be amiss. The fundraiser has already gathered over $7,000.
According to reports, Tyler had been watching a Manchester United soccer game on television the night before he was found. Family members, including his brother Mason, became concerned when Tyler went missing after falling asleep on a sofa at the hotel bar.
Mason described the harrowing moment when his brother was discovered. Molly, visibly distraught, was found crying out for Tyler when the reality of the situation hit.
Price spoke fondly of Tyler, describing him as energetic and devoted to his family, particularly his younger siblings. This trip was meant to create joyous memories, yet it has turned into a devastating tragedy for those who loved him. The family is now seeking answers and calling for justice during this difficult time.
