Tragic Accident Claims Young Boy’s Life in Indiana
A heartbreaking incident occurred in Indiana, where a four-year-old boy named Alan Marcelo Salas-Garcia lost his life, and his father, Cristobal Salas, was critically hurt when a speeding driver ran a red light and crashed into their bicycle.
On the evening of May 7, Alan was seated in a trailer attached to his father’s bicycle when a Dodge Charger sped through the intersection at Raymond Street and State Avenue. Eyewitnesses reported that the car was moving fast and showed no signs of stopping before hitting them.
"This Charger was flying… They didn’t even try to stop. I haven’t stopped crying since. It’s just awful," shared a witness.
Authorities revealed that the accident took place around 9:15 p.m. The Dodge Charger not only struck Alan and his father but also collided with another vehicle that had the green light in the intersection.
After the crash, Alan was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead shortly before 10 p.m. His father is now in stable condition, as confirmed by family members. The police initiated a search for the driver, utilizing drones and dogs, but as of May 9, no arrests had been made.
Local residents expressed their grief and concern over the incident. "I still can’t believe he’s gone," said Alan’s older brother. Neighbors are calling for increased safety measures on local roads to protect pedestrians and cyclists.
“We need to slow down and follow the traffic rules. This could have been avoided,” urged an officer involved in the investigation.
As the community mourns, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is appealing for anyone with information about the driver to come forward.
