Tragic Incident in Encino: Two Found Dead in Home
Los Angeles, CA – This past Monday, Los Angeles police made a grim discovery during a welfare check at a gated home in Encino. Inside, they found the bodies of music supervisor Robin Kaye and her husband Thomas Deluca, both aged 70, with multiple gunshot wounds. The couple was well-known in the entertainment industry, particularly for Kaye’s role in the long-running show “American Idol.”
The Welfare Check
Authorities were alerted when friends and family hadn’t heard from Kaye and Deluca in several days. Officers responded to the request, arriving at their upscale home, purchased for $4.5 million, where they found the tragic scene. Homicide detectives promptly took over the investigation.
Arrest Made
On Tuesday, police arrested 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian from Encino in connection with the crime. Investigators believe Boodarian had attempted to burglarize the couple’s home days earlier. Although police had previously gone to the residence on July 10 without finding any signs of forced entry, it’s now believed that he entered through an unlocked door and was inside when Kaye and Deluca returned home.
According to the investigation, a confrontation occurred, leading to the fatal shootings. Boodarian then fled the scene on foot.
Court Proceedings
Officers collected evidence and reviewed surveillance footage, leading to Boodarian’s arrest. The district attorney’s office is expected to receive the case soon, followed by Boodarian’s arraignment. His previous arrests include charges of battery and threatening behavior, but those charges were dismissed.
Remembering Robin Kaye
Kaye had dedicated over 15 years to “American Idol” and was actively involved in preparing for the upcoming season at the time of her passing. A spokesperson for the show expressed deep sympathy, highlighting Kaye’s significant contributions and the affection many had for her.
Her role included securing rights for various songs used on the show, a testament to her skills and connections in the music industry. Former contestants remember her fondly, noting her caring nature and her ability to make them feel valued during the show’s demanding moments.
As the community grapples with this tragic loss, many remember Kaye not just for her talent but for the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her.
