Tragic Drive-By Shooting in Downtown Chicago Leaves Four Dead and 14 Injured
A drive-by shooting outside a nightclub in downtown Chicago has resulted in the deaths of four individuals and injuries to 14 others. The incident occurred following an album release party for rapper Mello Buckzz.
On the evening of July 2, a dark vehicle reportedly pulled up outside the Artis Restaurant and Lounge, where attendees had gathered. Gunfire erupted as at least one person from the car began shooting into the crowd.
Among the victims, two men aged 24 and 25, along with two women aged 26 and 27, lost their lives. Reports indicate that some of the victims sustained critical injuries, with three suffering gunshot wounds to the chest and another being shot in the head. The age of the injured victims ranges between 21 to 32 years old, with several women reported in critical condition.
The shooters fled the scene immediately after the attack, and as of now, no arrests have been made. Witnesses described the situation as chaotic, with one individual noting the youthful crowd and their initial impression of a fun gathering before the violence erupted.
This nightclub, previously known as Hush Chicago, had faced closure by the city in 2022 due to concerns over public safety, following another fatal incident.
Authorities continue to investigate the shooting, seeking any leads that could assist in identifying the assailants.
