A sad story is coming out of Brazil, where a woman has died after a terrible incident. Taynara Souza Santos, who was 31 years old, was allegedly hit by a car and dragged down a road. This happened in late November, and she had been in a coma since then.
Police say that Douglas Alves da Silva, 26, was the driver of the car. The incident happened early in the morning of November 29th.
Taynara, who had two children, a 12-year-old son and a 7-year-old daughter, passed away on Christmas Eve.
Reports say that Taynara and Douglas knew each other. Video footage seems to show Taynara walking down the street with a man when a car hits her and drags her for a long distance.
After finding Douglas, police say he tried to take an officer’s gun.
Someone who was in the car with Douglas told police that they asked him to stop the car, but he didn’t.
Some people have told police that they think this was done on purpose because of jealousy.
Taynara was taken to a hospital because she was badly hurt. She had to have both of her legs removed, and she had other surgeries as well.
At first, Douglas was being investigated for attempted murder. Now that Taynara has died, the charges will likely change.
Taynara’s sister said she is very angry at Douglas for what he did.
