Wesley LePatner Remembered After Tragic Shooting
The family of Wesley LePatner, a senior executive at Blackstone, is mourning her loss following a horrific shooting incident in New York City on July 28. They described her as a “loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister,” noting that she enriched their lives in countless ways.
LePatner was one of four victims killed in a shooting at a Park Avenue office building. Alongside her were Didarul Islam, Aland Etienne, and Julia Hyman.
In a heartfelt statement, the LePatner family expressed their deep sorrow, saying, “At this unbearably painful time, we are experiencing an enormous, gaping hole in our hearts that will never be filled.” They highlighted her loyal friendship and professional talent.
Blackstone, where LePatner worked for nearly 11 years, also released a statement, honoring her as a talented and respected figure within the firm. The company conveyed its condolences to her family, sharing their own sense of devastation.
LePatner held the position of chief executive of Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust and had a remarkable career. Before joining Blackstone, she spent over a decade at Goldman Sachs and graduated summa cum laude from Yale University.
