Traffic Alert: Permanent Closure of I-26 Westbound Off-Ramp to Bush River Road
COLUMBIA, S.C. — A traffic update for those traveling to Bush River Road: The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has announced the permanent closure of the off-ramp from westbound I-26 to Bush River Road.
To reach Bush River Road, drivers will now need to take the newly expanded Colonial Life Boulevard exit through the I-126 interchange. This change is part of SCDOT’s final step to permanently modify traffic patterns on Bush River Road in preparation for future improvements to the I-26/I-20/I-126 interchange.
How to Navigate the Closure
For drivers heading from westbound I-26, the new route to Bush River Road will involve taking the Colonial Life Boulevard exit from the right lane on westbound I-126, just after St. Andrews Road.
Motorists are urged to exercise caution and pay attention to signage as SCDOT works on enhancing the Carolina Crossroads corridor.
For further project details, drivers can contact SCDOT at their project hotline at 800-601-8715.
