A toddler was taken to a hospital after a dog attacked them during a birthday party. This incident occurred in Hardwick, Stockton-on-Tees, according to the Cleveland Police, who responded to a report of the attack on Saturday.
When the police arrived, they found the child had sustained non-life-threatening injuries to their arms and head. The child was promptly taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The police secured the dog involved in the incident, ensuring no harm came to the animal while removing it from the location. The dog was then taken to specialized kennels for care.
A representative from the North East Ambulance Service stated that they were notified about the incident but did not send any resources as the child was able to go to the hospital on their own.
Reports indicate that the child is believed to be between two and three years old. Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with numerous emergency services present. Some onlookers mentioned that the dog involved seemed to be a pitbull mix, although police have not yet confirmed the dog’s breed.
The Cleveland Police and the North East Ambulance Service have not publicly commented on the situation as of now.
