Frank Sinatra’s daughter, Tina Sinatra, recently expressed her approval of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg using her father’s image in a new commercial for their gin brand, Still G.I.N. The ad features an artificial intelligence version of the legendary jazz singer alongside the late Sammy Davis Jr.
At 76 years old, Tina described the experience as both “thrilling and surreal.” She highlighted the groundbreaking aspect of seeing her father interact with contemporary figures like Dre and Snoop, noting that it celebrates the lasting impact of artistry and collaboration across different generations.
The commercial, which premiered on December 10, shows Dre and Snoop mingling in a classy bar while Sinatra and Davis Jr. observe them. When they see other patrons showing admiration for the two rappers, Sinatra humorously asks, “Now, who the hell are these guys?” Davis Jr. chimes in, referring to them as “the new gangsters in town.”
Intrigued by the newcomers, Sinatra asks their bartender to introduce them, leading to a toast where they all share a drink. The interaction emphasizes a blend of classic and modern influences, which the gin brand aims to capture.
Tina noted that the production team collaborated closely with her father’s and Davis Jr.’s estates to portray their legacies authentically. Sinatra’s involvement in the project demonstrates the enduring appeal of artists like him, who continue to inspire new generations.
Still G.I.N. was launched earlier this year and represents a partnership between Dre and Snoop, showcasing not just their musical talents but also their business ventures. The ad will be featured during the finale of NBC’s “The Voice,” coinciding with Snoop’s debut season as a coach.
