Timothée Chalamet and Saoirse Ronan, two of Hollywood’s rising stars, recently took time out of their busy schedules to reunite for a discussion at the British Film Institute in London. The actors first crossed paths in Greta Gerwig’s acclaimed 2017 film, “Lady Bird,” and later teamed up again in her adaptation of “Little Women.”
Despite their flourishing careers taking them in different directions, both have maintained a strong friendship over the years. Ronan expressed their luck in being able to check in with each other periodically, highlighting the special connection they share as they both experience success in the industry.
Ronan’s husband, Jack Lowden, was present in the audience, showing his support during the conversation. The two actors have had quite a year, with multiple films released that are now contending for various awards.
Chalamet portrays Bob Dylan in the upcoming film “A Complete Unknown,” which is set to be released on Christmas Day. Meanwhile, Ronan stars in “The Outrun,” where she plays a young woman battling addiction who returns to her home in the Orkney Islands of Scotland in search of a fresh start.
Chalamet is also reprising his role as Paul Atreides in the highly anticipated sequel “Dune: Part Two,” while Ronan is featured in Steve McQueen’s latest project, “Blitz.” During their discussion, the audience enjoyed clips from their earlier collaborations, and Chalamet humorously remarked that he found a particular “Lady Bird” scene more impressive than he remembered.
When the topic of fame arose, both actors seemed to agree on its trivial nature. Chalamet described discussions about fame as “the most boring thing to talk about,” and Ronan mentioned how she chooses to ignore its existence altogether.
