A teenager in Texas is facing serious allegations after he reportedly shot his mother and sister. The 15-year-old boy, whose name has not been released, called 911 and threatened to harm himself or someone else, according to local news sources.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered the mother and the 17-year-old sister suffering from several gunshot wounds. According to a police lieutenant, it appears that the shooting was triggered by a negative reaction to THC edibles the teenager had consumed.
Witnesses say the boy had been with another adult and another teenager when they all took the edibles together. After experiencing difficulties, someone called for an ambulance. While the other two individuals were trying to reassure him, the teen reportedly became upset, grabbed a gun, and opened fire on his mother and sister.
Reports indicate that when firefighters encountered him later, the teen pointed a gun at them before fleeing the scene. Both the mother and sister are currently in critical condition. The teenage suspect is expected to face charges of aggravated assault.
