Texas Authorities Search for Murder Suspect Who Removed Ankle Monitor
Texas law enforcement is actively searching for Trevor McEuen, who is charged with capital murder. McEuen cut off his ankle monitor early on the morning of May 5, just hours before he was scheduled to go on trial.
According to a statement from the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, multiple agencies are involved in the search for McEuen, who left his home around 5:30 a.m. that day. The authorities have not confirmed whether he is armed and have urged the public to avoid approaching him if seen.
McEuen’s murder charge relates to the shooting death of his neighbor, 35-year-old Aaron Martinez, in May 2023. Reports indicate that prior to the incident, McEuen had expressed hostility toward Martinez and members of the Hispanic community.
Authorities believe McEuen fled either on foot or in a vehicle, but they do not have details about what he was wearing at the time of his escape.
McEuen has a history of legal trouble, having been arrested in May 2023 and then again in September 2024 after he made threats against Martinez and his uncle on social media. He was released on a $2 million bond last December.
In a bid to locate him, officials are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to his capture. Anyone with knowledge of McEuen’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office at 469-376-4500 or call Kaufman County Crime Stoppers at 1-877-847-7522.
