Hageman clarified Musk’s role as a special government employee with security clearance, commending his aim to eliminate waste, particularly in agencies like the U.S. Agency for International Development, which she criticized as a “monstrosity.”
The contrast between the two meetings underscores the significant differences in political climate across the nation. While Hageman’s event, which drew about 250 people, reflected the support Trump has in regions like Wyoming, Edwards’ engagement in Asheville revealed a more contentious atmosphere, where Trump garnered only about 36% of votes previously.
