Authorities in Tennessee are on the lookout for four individuals accused of robbing a convenience store while carrying pythons. The incident occurred at a Citgo location on March 4, where the suspects, made up of two men and two women, allegedly stole CBD oil worth about $400.
The Madison County Police released surveillance images to help identify the suspects and shared these details on their CrimeStoppers Instagram account. After the robbery, the group reportedly fled in a four-door sedan with the trunk secured by bungee cords.
An employee at the store, Mayur Raval, reported that he and his brother were working during the robbery. He mentioned that the robbers were waving the pythons around and even placing them on the counter. Raval described one python as white and another as a brown or mixed color.
He believed that the thieves might have taken more items if there hadn’t been many customers in the store at the time. He noted, “They pulled their car up to the front of the door. I think they planned to successfully come here and rob the store. The snake is a weapon, you know.”
Pythons are large non-venomous snakes that can vary in size, measuring from 22 inches to as long as 33 feet and weighing up to 250 pounds. They are known for their method of hunting, using their bodies to suffocate their prey.
The police are urging anyone who might recognize the suspects to contact Crime Stoppers at 731-424-8477.
