A 15-year-old boy in Ohio faces charges of murder after allegedly shooting a man who had attacked his mother. According to the Cincinnati Police, officers responded to a report of a shooting on Pasadena Avenue early on February 20. Upon arrival, they found a 30-year-old man named Levonte Hyde with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, he was pronounced dead.
Later that day, police arrested the teenager, linking him to the shooting. The incident reportedly began when Hyde punched the boy’s mother several times while they were on their way to a store.
Authorities confirmed that a warrant for Hyde’s arrest had been issued for misdemeanor domestic violence earlier that day, with court documents indicating that the mother had visible injuries. The boy is one of her children, and Hyde is not his father.
In court, it was stated that the boy fired a total of 12 rounds at Hyde, and it was noted that he had taken time to retrieve a firearm before the shooting occurred. The incident involving Hyde and the boy’s mother took place about 30 minutes prior to the shooting. The teenager has been ordered to remain in a detention center until his next hearing on March 3.
The Cincinnati Police have been contacted for further details.
