Jodie Sweetin, known for her role on “Full House,” is opening up about her past struggles with addiction and how she turned her life around.
Sweetin shared that her problems with alcohol began at a young age. She recalls an incident at her friend Candace Cameron Bure’s wedding when she was just 14 years old, where she drank too much and blacked out. She described the event as “awful” and “embarrassing.”
After “Full House” ended, Sweetin felt lost and struggled with her identity. She turned to stimulants, looking for a way to “make her brain work better.” As her addiction worsened, she realized she was on a dangerous path. She knew she needed to change or face serious consequences.
Sweetin credits her first pregnancy with turning her life around. She realized it was time to stop partying and focus on her responsibilities as a mother. She found sobriety in 2008, after struggling with drugs and alcohol for 15 years.
Sweetin is now committed to helping others by speaking openly about her experiences. She emphasizes the importance of talking about mental health and seeking help when needed. She also stresses that sobriety is a journey, not a destination, and that it requires ongoing effort and self-reflection. Sweetin is grateful for the support she has received and hopes her story will inspire others to seek help and find hope for a better future.
