Stephen Graham is thrilled to have the support of rock legend Bruce Springsteen as he takes on the role of Springsteen’s late father in the upcoming film, Deliver Me from Nowhere. During a recent episode of Soundtracking with Edith Bowman, the 51-year-old actor shared the moment he received a heartfelt text message from the 75-year-old singer.
Graham recounted that after finishing filming the biopic, he received one of the most touching texts he had ever received. In the message, Springsteen expressed deep gratitude, stating, “Better than any award that I could ever receive in my life.” This statement resonated with Graham, who considers Springsteen an icon and a hero to many.
The actor revealed that Springsteen told him, “Thank you so much. You know, my father passed away a while ago, and I felt like I saw him today. Thank you for giving me that memory.” Graham admitted the message brought him to tears, calling it a beautiful experience to connect with someone like Springsteen.
Their conversation also touched on Springsteen’s memoir Born to Run, where he reflects on his complex relationship with his late father. Graham, alongside co-star Jeremy Allen White and other cast members, aims to honor that relationship in the film.
The movie features a strong ensemble cast, including Jeremy Strong and Paul Walter Hauser. Springsteen has commented positively on the casting, saying, “They cast the film beautifully, so it’s very exciting.”
While Deliver Me from Nowhere does not yet have a set release date, it is anticipated to premiere in 2025. Bruce Springsteen’s excitement about the film is evident, and he believes that Jeremy Allen White’s portrayal will resonate deeply with fans.
