Britney Spears’ ex-husband, Kevin Federline, has made some serious claims about her behavior around their children. According to his upcoming book, Federline says Spears acted erratically, which made their sons afraid to stay with her.
Federline describes instances where the children allegedly woke up to find Spears watching them sleep, sometimes holding a knife. These incidents reportedly happened after their split in 2007 and caused the boys, now young men, to be fearful.
Spears’ representatives have responded to these claims, suggesting Federline is trying to profit from her situation now that child support payments have ended. They emphasize that Spears’ main concern is the well-being of her sons.
Federline also recounts a time in 2007 when Spears was put in a hospital for mental health evaluation after a custody disagreement. He describes it as a difficult time, noting the bond they once shared as a couple and parents. This event led to Spears’ conservatorship and Federline gaining primary custody of their children.
In a previous interview, Federline expressed worry that ending Spears’ conservatorship in 2021 might not have been the best decision. He fears something bad could happen and that their sons might have to deal with the consequences. He urged people who supported the “Free Britney” movement to focus on a “Save Britney” movement, shifting the focus from freedom to survival.
Spears and her sons have had a complicated relationship over the years. There have been public disagreements and expressions of hurt feelings. In 2022, Spears shared her disappointment over her sons’ behavior, while one of her sons expressed a desire to fix their relationship.
Federline has mentioned that his sons chose not to attend Spears’ wedding to Sam Asghari, which later ended in divorce. Spears has denied Federline’s claims of serious substance abuse issues and stated that he tried to portray her as out of control during their divorce.
