WNBA Star Sophie Cunningham Excited About New Podcast and Bravo Show
WNBA player Sophie Cunningham is making waves both on the court and in the media. The 28-year-old Indiana Fever guard recently announced a new podcast, “Show Me Something,” with her longtime friend West Wilson, who stars on Bravo’s popular show, Summer House.
Cunningham is a big fan of Wilson’s show, and jokingly mentioned how tough it is that the filming schedule overlaps with her WNBA season. She quipped that she might pretend to be sick just to get a chance to hang out with the Summer House cast in their Hamptons home.
“I haven’t been there because it’s during our season,” Cunningham said. “Though, I think I’m gonna fake being sick or something and just show up there.”
Not only does Cunningham enjoy Summer House, but she has also gotten her Fever teammates hooked on the show. “I’ve been addicted, and I have my teammates on it. I have everyone watching it because of West,” she explained.
Cunningham and Wilson go way back, having known each other since childhood in Columbia, Missouri. Wilson has shown his support by attending several of Cunningham’s games, though he hasn’t had a chance to catch a game since she joined the Fever in 2019. “She’s been balling since eighth grade,” he noted.
Their shared experiences extend beyond sports and into their high school days, where Wilson recalled a memorable moment when Cunningham played kicker in a boys’ football game during homecoming. “It was homecoming, so all these girls were dressed up cute while I was in football pads,” she recalled, laughing about the awkward situation.
The duo’s podcast promises to cover a range of topics, including the WNBA, pop culture, food, and more. “We’re lighthearted, and sometimes our love language is talking some trash,” Cunningham shared. “It’ll be great for people to hear our humor and what we’re really like.”
With this new venture, Cunningham hopes to bring fans closer to her personality, showing a different side away from the court.
