Princess Sofia of Sweden Addresses Past Acquaintance with Jeffrey Epstein
Princess Sofia, the wife of Prince Carl Philip, recently spoke about her brief connection to the late Jeffrey Epstein. This is the first time she has publicly addressed this topic.
Speaking to reporters at the Ctrl + Rights Youth Summit in Stockholm, Princess Sofia stated that she met Epstein “in a couple of social settings” some years ago.
She emphasized how grateful she is that she has had no further involvement with him since those brief encounters in her twenties, especially after learning about the terrible crimes he committed. The Princess also expressed her sympathy for the victims and hoped for justice to be served. She mentioned that she met Epstein at a social event and a film screening.
Royal commentator Amanda Matta noted that Princess Sofia’s directness is important. It shows a commitment to accountability and maintaining the public’s trust.
Matta also pointed out that Princess Sofia’s inclusion in Epstein’s circle highlights how widespread and appealing his social network was, even to young women.
The Swedish Royal Court has confirmed that Princess Sofia met Epstein a few times around 20 years ago. They clarified that these meetings were in social settings and that she never received any assistance from him.
These statements come after the Department of Justice released millions of records related to Epstein, including some emails that mentioned Princess Sofia.
It is important to remember that having met Epstein does not imply any knowledge or involvement in his crimes. Princess Sofia’s willingness to address this issue head-on demonstrates her commitment to transparency and her dedication to her royal duties.
