Christian Singer Forrest Frank Clarifies Stance After Jelly Roll’s Question
Singer Forrest Frank is addressing questions raised by country artist Jelly Roll regarding his views on Christian music awards.
Frank explained that he initially hesitated to speak out, but felt it necessary after media attention. He emphasized that his reluctance to participate in awards stems from a desire not to commercialize worship. He doesn’t want to make a business out of Jesus.
The exchange began when Jelly Roll questioned Frank’s decision to decline awards for his Christian music while still profiting from it. Jelly Roll’s original comment to Frank read, “Won’t receive trophy for something from Jesus for Jesus but will take the profits from something from Jesus for Jesus. Maybe I’m missing something here lol.”
Frank acknowledged that this issue has been a long-standing consideration for him. He shared that he felt divinely inspired to share his music, particularly his song “Quiet Time.”
Frank says what he does with the money he makes is private. He stated, “Legally, that money comes to me. What I do with that money after it legally comes to me, I’m never going to tell anybody, because your left hand isn’t supposed to know from your right hand.”
Frank concluded by extending a message of support to Jelly Roll, emphasizing unity and faith.
He also mentioned that he and Jelly Roll have spoken and are “good,” highlighting the importance of open dialogue among believers.
The disagreement arose after Frank declared he would no longer accept awards for his Christian music due to personal conviction.
Reactions to Jelly Roll’s comments were mixed, with some criticizing him and others defending Frank’s right to his beliefs.
Frank said that he spoke to Jelly Roll recently and that they are “good” with each other.
