A Republican senator from North Dakota, Kevin Cramer, recently experienced a seizure and a brain bleed after he slipped and fell on ice over the weekend. Thankfully, he is now resting and recovering at home.
In a post on Facebook, Senator Cramer shared that while walking down to the dock, he lost his footing on the ice and fell hard, hitting the back of his head. He mentioned that he does not remember the fall itself, which can be concerning.
Following the incident, medical professionals diagnosed him with a brain bleed, a concussion, and a seizure. He recounted that the wound on his head was particularly troubling, requiring the doctor to apply staples to close the laceration and ultimately admit him to the hospital.
The day after the fall, the senator reported experiencing fairly severe headaches but noted that the condition of the brain bleed had shown signs of improvement. He also mentioned that doctors advised him to take it easy for a little longer before returning to Washington, D.C., indicating that his return would be determined on a day-to-day basis.
Senator Cramer, who is 64 years old, has been serving in the Senate since 2018 after previously being a member of the House of Representatives. He was re-elected to the Senate in 2024, continuing his service to the people of North Dakota. His focus now remains on recovery, and he expressed eagerness to return to his duties when he is able.
