The story of Kada Scott, a 23-year-old woman from Pennsylvania, has taken a tragic turn with new details emerging about her connection to Keon King, the 21-year-old man accused of her murder.
Kada Scott disappeared on October 4th from her workplace in Philadelphia. After a search, her body was found on October 18th. The medical examiner later confirmed she had been shot.
Police arrested Keon King, who they say was the last person to contact Scott. He is now charged with murder, arson, and tampering with evidence.
Prosecutors had mentioned that Scott received “harassing” phone calls before she disappeared. It’s unknown if King is linked to these calls. While authorities previously stated Scott and King knew each other briefly, the nature of their relationship was unclear.
However, newly obtained court documents reveal text messages between Scott and King, offering a glimpse into their interactions before her disappearance.
The texts show they started talking on October 2nd. On the morning of October 4th, Scott texted King, “kidnap me again.” King replied, “better be up too.”
Later that evening, a co-worker at the nursing home where Scott worked overheard her on the phone saying, “I can’t believe you’re calling me about this…” After the call, Scott left in a dark-colored car.
Scott’s remains were found in the woods behind an abandoned building. Investigators tracked King’s cellphone to the location around the time a car was set on fire. Prosecutors believe King used the car to move Scott.
King is facing several charges, including arson, robbery, and abuse of a corpse.
