SBA Announces Effort to Cut Red Tape, Lower Costs for Americans
Washington, D.C. – The Small Business Administration (SBA) is launching a new initiative to roll back what it sees as unnecessary federal rules that drive up costs for families and small businesses. This effort, called the Deregulation Strike Force, aims to ease the financial strain on Americans by targeting regulations in areas like housing and food.
The SBA’s Office of Advocacy will lead the charge, coordinating a review across the government to find rules that hold back economic growth. Officials say the goal is to undo the damage caused by excessive regulations, which they estimate have cost Americans trillions of dollars.
SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler stated that the previous administration’s policies led to high inflation, partly due to a large bureaucracy that burdened working families and small businesses with new federal regulations. She believes the Deregulation Strike Force will cut unnecessary red tape, reducing costs for businesses and consumers.
The SBA says this initiative builds on President Trump’s commitment to lowering costs for all Americans. The strike force will focus on key sectors such as housing, healthcare, agriculture, energy, and transportation.
Officials argue that this deregulation effort reinforces President Trump’s economic message, highlighting regulatory relief as a way to combat high prices and improve the financial well-being of American families and small businesses.
The SBA reports that it has already helped eliminate billions in federal regulations since President Trump returned to office. These actions include changes to reporting rules, energy standards, and diesel fuel requirements, which the agency believes have led to significant savings.
