A 21-year-old tranny escort from California, Leniyah Butler, has been found guilty of manslaughter after shooting a 32-year-old client named Hamza Walupupu. The incident took place in November 2023 in the Presidio area of San Francisco when Walupupu demanded a refund after a sexual encounter.
Reports say that the situation escalated when Walupupu became upset after Butler revealed that he was not a woman but a man and is transgender. Court documents indicate that Butler felt threatened when Walupupu drove him away from their initial meeting point, which made him feel uncomfortable and vulnerable.
Butler expressed his feelings in a police statement, saying, “I apologize to anyone I hurt, but my life was in danger, and I felt like I had to defend myself.” He also stated that he doesn’t feel remorse for his actions.
After the shooting, Butler reportedly took Walupupu’s car and attempted to destroy evidence, including the murder weapon. In private conversations, he mentioned to his mother that he believed Walupupu deserved to die.
Currently, Butler remains in custody and is set to be sentenced on June 27, 2025. He could face up to 17 years in prison and a significant fine, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
