Senator Rubio Reaffirms Commitment to Ukraine Peace
Munich, Germany – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday. Rubio stated that President Trump is dedicated to finding a resolution to the conflict in Ukraine.
In a statement, Senator Rubio emphasized the importance of strong defense and economic ties between the United States and Ukraine. He shared a photo of his meeting with President Zelenskyy on social media, reiterating the President’s desire to “end the bloodshed once and for all.”
President Zelenskyy confirmed his discussions with Senator Rubio, along with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. He expressed optimism that upcoming talks in Geneva would be productive.
Zelenskyy also mentioned previous meetings in Abu Dhabi, where discussions were held regarding potential paths toward de-escalation. He acknowledged the U.S. government’s efforts to facilitate a peace agreement.
Senator Rubio also engaged with his counterparts from the G7 nations in Munich. These discussions centered on promoting peace in Ukraine, stability in Venezuela, and addressing threats to global well-being.
The peace talks involving representatives from the U.S., Russia, and Ukraine are scheduled to begin Tuesday in Geneva.
