Roger Howarth Joins The Young and the Restless
Roger Howarth, a familiar face in the soap opera world, is set to join The Young and the Restless this fall. Though details about his role remain under wraps, it’s confirmed that he will start filming in mid-September and will make his debut later in the year.
Howarth, now 56, has a long history in daytime television. He is well-known for his performances on One Life to Live, As the World Turns, and most recently, General Hospital.
The actor expressed his excitement about the new opportunity on Instagram, sharing a photo of himself signing “Y” and “R” in American Sign Language, a nod to his new role. In his post, he remarked, “Excited and appreciative… I’m a lucky guy.”
Howarth’s career began back in the early ’90s, with significant roles starting in 1992 on Loving and Guiding Light, eventually landing him the character Todd Manning on One Life to Live. He played this role intermittently until 2013, earning a Daytime Emmy in 1994 for his performance.
Throughout his career, he also portrayed Paul Ryan on As the World Turns from 2003 to 2010 and took on various roles on General Hospital from 2012 to 2023, including Todd Manning, Franco Baldwin, and Austin Gatlin-Holt.
In addition to his soap work, Howarth has appeared in other television series like Dawson’s Creek, where he played Professor Gregory Hetson, and had a role in The Flash as Mason Bridge in 2015.
Fans of The Young and the Restless can look forward to Howarth’s upcoming performance as the show continues its legacy on CBS, airing weekdays.
