Rep. Nancy Mace Stands Up for Women and Biology at Clemson University
Rep. Nancy Mace, a Republican from South Carolina, is actively taking a stand for traditional views on gender. She recently criticized Clemson University for a health services form that listed 15 different gender identities, including terms like "genderqueer" and "cisgender."
In a recent video shared on social media, Mace expressed her concerns about the form, stating, “We need to ensure that South Carolina is following science and not some radical ideology.” She emphasized that there are only two genders—male and female—and demanded accountability from the university.
Following her video, Mace reached out directly to Clemson President Jim Clements, seeking clarification. She insisted that taxpayers should not support universities that diverge from established scientific principles. “If it were up to me, a university that claimed there are 15 genders would not receive a dime from South Carolina,” Mace warned.
Clemson responded by clarifying that the contested menu was part of an external vendor’s health services portal, which has since been removed. The university stated that it is now consulting medical experts to see what gender-related information is necessary for healthcare.
Mace further stressed her view, asserting that the terms used in such discussions can be offensive. She stated unequivocally, “Women are women, and men are men,” and denounced the term "cis" as derogatory.
This isn’t the first time Rep. Mace has made headlines for her stances on gender issues. She has previously sought to block transgender access to women’s facilities and continues to advocate for women’s rights in these discussions, despite facing backlash.
Mace concluded her message by reiterating her commitment to ensuring women have safe spaces, saying, "Your threats will not deter me from fighting for women!"
