The bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner were given back to their family this past Friday, according to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner.
The couple had three children: a son named Jake, a daughter named Romy, and another son named Nick Reiner. Nick Reiner was charged on December 16th with two counts of first-degree murder.
Rob and Michele were found dead in their home in Brentwood on Sunday, December 14th. The medical examiner’s office in Los Angeles County reported that they died from multiple sharp wounds. The office has ruled their deaths as homicides.
District Attorney Nathan Hochman stated in a press conference that Nick Reiner is also accused of using a knife in the crime. If convicted, he could face life in prison without parole or even the death penalty. However, a decision on seeking the death penalty has not been made yet.
Nick Reiner appeared in court on Wednesday after being charged.
Jake and Romy shared a statement on December 17th, expressing their grief and asking for privacy and compassion during this difficult time. They want their parents to be remembered for their incredible lives and the love they shared.
Nick Reiner’s next court date is scheduled for January 7, 2026.
