The son of Rob and Michele Reiner, Nick Reiner, was not at his parents’ home when they were found dead.
Police found Nick, 32, a short distance from the house, near the University of Southern California campus. He was arrested around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday on suspicion of murder.
Nick is being held in jail without bail and is scheduled to appear in court.

The night before, Nick, his mother, and father were at a party. According to sources, Nick and Rob got into a “big fight” there. One source said Nick was acting strangely and asking people if they were famous.
Rob and Michele Reiner had three children together: Jake, Nick, and Romy. Before marrying Michele, Rob was married to Penny Marshall.
Nick has talked about his past struggles with addiction and being homeless. He said he started going to rehab around age 15 and spent time living on the streets.
