Nick Reiner is facing serious charges in the deaths of his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner. The Los Angeles County District Attorney, Nathan J. Hochman, announced that Nick is being charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Because there are multiple murders involved, there is a special circumstance attached to the charges.
Prosecutors say Nick used a knife in the crime. If he is found guilty, he could spend the rest of his life in prison without the chance of parole, or he could face the death penalty.
Nick, who is 32 years old, was supposed to go to court for the first time, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, said he wasn’t well enough to be taken to the courthouse.
Rob and Michele Reiner were found dead in their home in Brentwood, California. Police were called to the house and started an investigation into their deaths. Nick was quickly identified as the main suspect and was arrested. He is currently being held in jail with no bail.
The police haven’t released many details, but it’s believed that Rob and Michele were stabbed.
A family representative shared a statement expressing deep sadness about the loss of Michele and Rob Reiner. They asked for privacy during this difficult time.
Rob and Michele Reiner had three children together: Jake, Nick, and Romy.
