The investigation into the deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner has taken a turn, with records from the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s office temporarily sealed.
Police requested this “security hold” to review details about the Reiners’ deaths before the information is released to the public. The LAPD says this isn’t meant to hide anything, but to give detectives time to understand the case.
Because of the court order, the Medical Examiner can’t share any more information right now, including the official report. The office understands people want to know what happened and promises to release more details as soon as they can.
Rob and Michele Reiner were found dead in their home on December 14. Their son, Nick, has been arrested and charged with their murders.
Official documents say Rob, 78, and Michele, 70, died from multiple sharp force injuries.
Nick Reiner appeared in court recently and is being held without bail. Reports say he was being treated for schizophrenia.
Rob and Michele Reiner were married in 1989 and had three children together. Rob also had a daughter from a previous marriage.
A memorial service for Rob and Michele will be held in the future. Their other children, Jake and Romy, said they are experiencing unimaginable pain and that their parents were also their best friends.
