Trump’s State of the Union is coming, and frankly, it’s time to cut through the noise and see what he’s actually done. Did he deliver on his promises, or was it all just talk?
Here’s a quick look at the score:
- Border Security: A win, with crossings down.
- Tariffs: A mixed bag, facing legal challenges.
- Foreign Policy: Some wins, but Ukraine remains a problem.
- Economy: Showing promise, but anxieties linger.
Cracking Down at the Border: A Promise Kept?
Donald Trump vowed to stop the “invasion” at our southern border, and he’s made real progress. Data shows a big drop in illegal border crossings. This is exactly what we wanted, protecting our nation from the chaos and lawlessness that an open border invites.
The Left will, of course, whine about “mass deportations.” But Trump promised to remove those who shouldn’t be here, and while the legal battles continue, the message is clear: America is not a sanctuary for lawbreakers. The so-called “Operation Metro Surge” is critical in removing dangerous criminals from our communities.
Tariffs: Fighting for American Workers
Trump promised to protect American manufacturing with tariffs, and while the Supreme Court threw a wrench in the works, he’s not backing down. He slapped a 10% tariff on imports, with plans to hike it to 15%. Good.
The Left screams “recession!” But real wages are up for working Americans. This is about putting America first, not appeasing globalist elites. The impact of these tariffs is more than just economic – it’s about reclaiming our national sovereignty.
Foreign Policy: Cleaning Up Biden’s Mess
Trump promised to end wars and put America first on the world stage. On one front, he’s succeeding. He’s putting out multiple wars, securing the Western Hemisphere by squeezing out the communist dictators in Venezuela and Cuba.
Ukraine, however, remains a thorny issue. We need to focus on our interests, not endless foreign entanglements. Threatening military strikes on Iran might seem counter to a peace message, but sometimes, strength is the only language our enemies understand.
The Conservative Take: A Foundation for the Future
Trump’s record is a mixed bag, but overall, he’s laying the groundwork for a stronger, more secure, and more prosperous America. He’s faced constant opposition from the Left, the media, and even some within his own party.
He’s taken bold action on the border, fought for American workers with tariffs, and started to clean up the mess in foreign policy. He deserves credit for that. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act tax cuts should be made permanent to fully unleash the power of the free market.
The next few years will be crucial. Can Trump build on this foundation and truly Make America Great Again?
